A History professor is fired from her job on a trumped up sex charge involving a student.  She moves to Paris and researches women who were punished in WW II for horizontal collaboration.  When a former lover, now a widower, from the college she was dismissed from comes to Paris to see his son, who was wounded in the Bataclan nightclub shooting, the woman learns that her former lover was responsible for her dismissal. Perhaps this woman has more in common than she knows with the women she is researching.
