By Peter Snoad
Directed by Barbara Waldinger

On the eve of his wedding, a young white man, marrying into a family of bigots, discovers that he is turning black. Will his twin brother help? A racial Comedy of Errors.

Peter Snoad is delighted to be working again with HRC Showcase Theatre. HRC did staged readings of two of his other plays, Rosa, (2005-06 season) and Guided Tour (2006-07). The latter subsequently won two national new play awards, the Stanley Drama Award and the Arthur W. Stone Playwriting Award, and was produced in South Carolina (Centre Stage), Louisiana (Louisiana Tech University), and Tennessee (Playwrights’ Forum, Memphis). Identity Crisis has previously received staged readings at Provincetown Theatre in Provincetown, MA and Centre Stage-South Carolina in Greenville, SC. Peter’s plays have been staged throughout the U.S., and in Canada, the U.K, Singapore, and Australia. He is currently working on a new full-length play inspired by the life and writings of the black abolitionist, David Walker. Based in Boston, Peter received an Artist Fellowship for playwriting from the Massachusetts Cultural Council in 2009. He is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America, AFTRA, and SAG. Special thanks to his two wonderful Muses, Mindy and Sasha. For more information about Peter’s plays, go to: www.petersnoad.com
