This play comes directly from the headlines as it dramatically explores both sides of the illegal immigration issue. Lacamara gives us insight into these issues by presenting two stories, happening at different places and times, side by side on stage. After a limited engagement at the Haworth Theatre in Los Angeles the Los Angeles Times called it a piece of “raw poignant power and piercing insight”.

CARLOS LACAMARA has been an actor for twenty-five years and is the playwright of Nowhere on the Border, this season’s fourth production on 4 April, 2009. He played the role of Pace on NBC’s Nurses for 3 seasons and the father in Nickelodeon’s The Brothers Garcia for 4 seasons. In 1999 his Crashing Heaven was produced at the Court Theater in LA and he co-wrote several comic plays including Elvis. Lies and Video Tape, The Firing Squad, and Hit and Run which was develped into a pilot presentation for Fox TV. His Havana Bourgeois was produced at Reverie Productions in NY and at Hayworth Theatre in L.A. In 2000 he returned to Cuba after an absence of 40 years. He was moved by the hardships of life on the island and inspired to write his play Becoming Cuban which the L.A. Weekly proclaimed the “Best Political Drama of 2002”.
