In this drama we follow the fortunes of an unusual young man and his wife he has just married, as he is drafted and sent to Iraq. There he meets a detainee who teaches him more than he bargained for.

William di Canzio has had plays staged in NYC, Los Angeles, at Yale University, and the O’Neill. He received fellowships from the Jerome Foundation and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Mr. di Canzio is an alumnus of the Yale School of Drama, where he held the Eugene O’Neill scholarship in playwriting. He has taught at Smith Collge, Haverford College and Yale University. His drama, Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier, will be presented by Showcase Theatre on 17 April, 2010..
